Step aboard the Flying Dutchman for an adventurous voyage through the Southern Hebrides of Scotland. During this journey we combine active sailing with opportunities to go ashore, enjoy walks through small island communities, and experience the peace of remote anchorages and sheltered bays.No two voyages are ever exactly the same.Wind, tides and weather conditions determine our route and give every trip its own unique character. That freedom is exactly what makes travelling on a traditional sailing vessel so special — one day we may sail towards a quiet anchorage, the next towards a lively harbour or a rugged Atlantic island.Flexibility is key to making the most of this adventurous trip!

Prices
We have divided the prices into two categories because our double cabins are different in size. All prices are per person when staying in:

  • Standard cabin            €  1385,- per person
  • Comfort/Plus cabin     €  1525,- per person
  • Singel cabin                  €  2080,- per person (limited availability)
Included

Included:

  • Accommodation in a twin cabin with private shower and toilet
  • Fresh bed linen and towels are provided
  • Professional crew consisting of: Captain, First Mate, and Cook
  • Use of the Zodiac for shore landings
  • All charges regarding Port fees, tourists Fees and fuel expenses.
  • Half board: Coffee, tea, milk, juices, and water included during meals.
    Half board includes: Breakfast served on board every day, plus one main meal (either lunch or dinner). The other main meal is at your own expense ashore. If, for any reason, we decide to anchor and not go ashore, all three meals will be served on board at no additional cost.

Please note that our galley can accommodate vegetarian meals, but we are unable to cater for special dietary requirements as a standard service.

Not Included:

  • Travel to and from the ship
  • Personal expenses
  • Any additional entrance fees and beverages ashore
  • Drinks purchased on board

We sail with an international group of guests on board. Participants on this voyage typically come from countries including the Netherlands, Switzerland, England, Germany, Sweden, and Scotland.

    Southern Hebrides Discovery Voyage:
    Possible destinations

    Day 1 – Arrival on board in Oban

    You are welcomed aboard the ship in the afternoon. After settling into your cabin, we introduce you to the vessel, crew and fellow travellers. During dinner we discuss the plans for the coming days and look at the weather forecast and possible routes together.

    Day 2 to 7 – Sailing through the Southern Hebrides

    Over the coming days we explore one of Scotland’s most beautiful sailing areas. Possible destinations include:

    • Crinan – a charming canal village at the entrance to the famous Crinan Canal.
    • Craighouse – the small main village of Jura, surrounded by dramatic scenery and known for its distillery.
    • Islay – world-famous for its whisky, rugged coastline and welcoming island culture.
    • Gigha – a peaceful green island with white beaches and excellent walking opportunities.
    • Tayvallich – an idyllic harbour village on Loch Sween, perfect for a quiet evening ashore.

    Along the way we will regularly anchor in beautiful remote bays where we can enjoy the silence, nature and impressive coastal scenery of Scotland. There will be plenty of opportunities to go ashore for walks, visit a pub or distillery, or simply enjoy the surroundings.

    Anyone who wishes can actively participate in sailing the ship: steering, setting sails or assisting with navigation. Of course, simply relaxing on deck and taking in the views is equally welcome.

    We may encounter seals, dolphins, sea eagles and perhaps even whales along the way — wildlife is never far away in these waters.

    Day 8 – Oban

    We end our journey in Oban, a charming fishing town situated on a magnificent bay. It is also home to the famous Oban Distillery , which is well worth a visit.

    After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to ship and crew. With memories of sailing, island life and the landscapes of the Scottish Hebrides, this discovery voyage comes to an end.
